Engage With The Stage

This season, we invite schools to become a part of our learning community's Morning Matinee Series by participating in a three-part process:

1) Teachers attend one of two in-service education days at the Hilberry Theatre, where they will learn useful methods for teaching students about theatre and play analysis. Taught by Wayne State Department of Theatre faculty member Mary Pratt Cooney, PhD, program participants will also earn continuing education credits.

2) Hilberry Company actors will visit your classroom to interact and engage with your students prior to the performance.

3) Students attend a morning matinee performance at the Hilberry Theatre, prepared to engage with live theatre in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

Inspired by feedback collected from teachers, our goal is to ensure that students understand the impact of live theatre on their educations, communities and development as individuals.

This opportunity is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular morning matinee prices apply, with no additional fees. Please contact Group Sales at (313) 577-0852 for more information.
